Ko Hamanatua Te Awa

Kia Ora,

Today we went to the Hamanatua stream, our Awa, because we are the kaitiaki - guardians of the stream and needed to weed all of the fennel, nightshade and other weeds. Most of the kids from room 2 and 3 went up to the top and weeded the fennel by the plants that we planted in 2016. Two of the groups including my group went and weeded by the path next to the stream that we planted Harakeke by last year. It was hard work but in the end we were proud of our mahi.

2019 In Moana Hub!!

Hi my name is Caitlyn, I am a year 6 at Wainui Beach School and this is my second year blogging. This year I am in a year six in a collaborative learning space called Moana Hub. Highlights!

This year we have done lots of fun things.  Here are my two academic highs and two non academic highs. Also I will share my goal for next year. My two academic highs   are math's and blogging! I chose theses things because in maths i have improved a lot and in blogging I am getting alot better! My two non academic things are P.E and shadehouse. I chose them because in P.E i have learnt a lot of new games like coney Island and corner ball. I chose shade house because it was fun and I like gardening.  My goal for next year is to believe in myself and Try new things.

       

Animations

Today Mrs Duckworth showed us a video about how to animate. when we did our anamation we had to do it on something we did every day. Every day i think about harry  If you would like to learn how to animate the the link to the video that taught us is here...  Link!!!!

Athletics

Running down the grass the red and black mat is in front of me, I hit the mat jump in the sand. First jump done 2 more to go.

On tuesday we had our school athletics. What is athletics you may be thinking. Athletics has four rotations; sprints, high jump, ball throw and long jump.

This year was a bit different as we had house colors the colors were Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. I was in Yellow.

To finish of the sprints at morning tea they were selling Ice creams and ice blocks.

Today we had koka maria in and we learned more about  Smart media.  Then we made a word art one to do with school and one for home.

Talent Quest!

A few days ago we had the school talent quest and there were lots of cool talents.
We had Singers, Dancers, Gymnasts, Motor bikers, musicians, Jump Jamers, Bands and A cute video of 5 year old's dancing to MC Hammer!!! Then we also had our TEACHERS!!!!!! I played one of my grade 2 exam piano pieces called Allegretto.
We also had some great MC's Nia And Israel  The teachers will chose some kids to share their talents at arts night next week. Me and my friend Mekayla were going to do a dance to Harry Potter in 99 seconds but she had to go to America so we are going to perform it at assembly next term.
