Weather predictions

Today for reading we did how people predicted the weather before they had modern technology.
We had an extra challenge of doing a diagram of two different clouds and their differences.
Here is mine.

How you pronounce the words is like this: Nimbostratus is pronounced Nim-bo-strat-us.
Stratocumulus is pronounced strat-o-cum-a-lis.

Private passwords

Last week Koka Maria taught us about strong passwords. Strong passwords can be the starting letters from a phrase or a sentence. For example Harry Potter is the best book in the world will be:
hpitbbitw

Then you can change some of the letters to a capital, number or symbol.

Then It could be changed to this:
HP1tbb1tw!

Here is another example:
Strawberry jam on toast is great with cheese

sjotigwc

Then we change it to :
Sj0t1&w(

Make sure your password is strong!

Duathlon!

LI: I am sharing some of my ideas, feelings and thoughts on my blog about the
     Duathlon  today!

Success Criteria:
  • It makes sense when I read it
  • I have used capital letters and full stops correctly
  • I have had my blogging buddy check my blog before I publish it
5 feelings I had during the duathlon
  1. Sweaty,
  2. Tired,
  3. Nervos,
  4. Stitch,
  5. Exhausted.
A paragraph about the duathlon.

"Year 5 Girls" shouted Matua Fergus. Take your marks BANG! We were off. Some of the girls were sprinting at the start but then they got tired on the second lap. 'puff puff' by the time I was half way through my second lap I had a really big stitch.  Slowly but steadily I ran/walked up the hill to the bikes. I quickly clicked up my helmet and grabbed my bike. Running up to the curb I lift the front wheel of my bike up and start biking. I am OFF!

One word to describe how I was feeling:  Tired

My goal:   My goal was to not let anyone pass me on the bike and I completed it!!!!

Reading Wheel

This week we made Reading wheels. First we had to do the maths part of it. Which was when we had to measure the sectors. First we measured a full rotation which is 360°. Then we had to do a half which is 180°, and a quarter which is 90°. Then we went 360° divided by 6  which = 60°. After that we had to write what maths we learnt and displayed it on the back of the reading wheel. Then we chose a book and displayed it on our wheel. The pattern we did was picture writing  picture writing  picture writing.

Here is my one.
