Holiday Slow Write

This week in room 1 we had to write about one key thing we did in our holidays. The structure was a slow write.

Air Zone

Woohoo! I feel a warm flutter in my chest. Stepping through the door I hear the screams of people on the tarzan rope and swing. Weeeeeee, this is really fun. Quickly I jump into the foam pit, Hallelujah! “When’s it my turn?” My little cousin asks. Although the man tried to stop people climbing up the tramp, some kids still did it. The foam in the pits were pink, blue, yellow and green. Why is it always on my turn, I the man has to tell people off. I attempt my flick flack just as we are about to leave and I did it, YYYYYEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!

Me Recipe

Today we had to write a recipe about our self as a learner. We could choose if we wanted to do it about what we do well or what we want to improve on. I chose what I need to work on.
Here it is:

Caitlyn’s Finished Fizzing Wizbees
Aim:
To write a recipe about what I need to improve on.
(Which is finishing off)

Ingredients:

A dash of answers
A few cups of happiness
3 tablespoons of interest
A few drops of liquid neurons

Equipment:
A big glass bowl
A wooden spoon
A mixer
A sive
A container
A plate
A knife

Method:
1 Pour the perseverance and hard work into the middle of the bowl.
2 Fold the persistence and self confidence into the bowl.
3 Sive the answers and happiness onto the side of the bowl.
4 Beat in the interest and liquid neurons.
5 Pour into the container and put into the freezer.
6 Wait 5 hours.

Reflecting and Thinking

Last week in class we did a survey about our learning and what type of learner we think we are. Then we had to complete another doc sheet about why we think that we are that type of learner. Here are some of the things that it included, what we are proud of from this term and what we want to improve. After that we made a drawing including those things. Here is mine.

Weather predictions

Today for reading we did how people predicted the weather before they had modern technology.
We had an extra challenge of doing a diagram of two different clouds and their differences.
Here is mine.

How you pronounce the words is like this: Nimbostratus is pronounced Nim-bo-strat-us.
Stratocumulus is pronounced strat-o-cum-a-lis.

Private passwords

Last week Koka Maria taught us about strong passwords. Strong passwords can be the starting letters from a phrase or a sentence. For example Harry Potter is the best book in the world will be:
hpitbbitw

Then you can change some of the letters to a capital, number or symbol.

Then It could be changed to this:
HP1tbb1tw!

Here is another example:
Strawberry jam on toast is great with cheese

sjotigwc

Then we change it to :
Sj0t1&w(

Make sure your password is strong!
